CBI court asks Sabita Indra Reddy to file contentions in discharge petition

Hyderabad: The CBI court here has asked the Telangana state minister Sabitha Indra Reddy to submit her contentions in the discharge petition filed by her seeking removal of her name in a CBI case.

The case was related to alleged illegal mining by Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by Gali Janardhan Reddy. The case was adjourned to July 27 for arguments on behalf of Sabitha Indra Reddy.

In 2014, the CBI had filed the charge sheet against Sabitha Indra Reddy, as Accused-9, with charges of criminal conspiracy and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

In another batch of cases, the CBI court granted time to the CBI to file the affidavits in the discharge petitions filed by AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sabitha Indira Reddy, B.P. Acharya and Samuel, retired IAS officials, who sought removal of their names in the cases filed by CBI related to allotments of lands, mines and water to the Penna Cements and Indu Tech Zone.

The court adjourned to Friday, July 23, the plea filed by YSRC leader V. Vijaysai Reddy for permission to go abroad.
