Three held for cousin's murder in Kothanur

BENGALURU: Three people were arrested for murdering their cousin over a land dispute on Tuesday night in Kothanur police station limits.

The accused have been identified as T. Manohar, 31, T. Harish, 25 and Punith Kumar, 22, all residents of Yelahanka.

According to the police, the three accused alleged that the victim, Nagaraj, had cheated them and usurped their share of land 30 years ago.

For the past one month they were on the lookout to kill him. On Tuesday night, they waited in an auto near his house and when Nagaraj came they intercepted his bike and killed him using machetes and escaped.

Nagaraj’s wife and his friend found him lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to the nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injures.

The Kothanur police found them hiding in a lodge in Nelamangala and arrested them. The police also seized the weapons and an auto which was abandoned near Hesaraghatta.
