Life imprisonment for three accused in Nettayam murder case

KOLLAM: The principal district and sessions court on Thursday sentenced Anoop Khan, 29, prime accused in the murder of Nettayam Anoop, to 25- year rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of   Rs 50,000 In case of default, he has to serve an  additional term of two years. The second accused Binu, 34, was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 25,000 while the third accused Ajayan, 29, was awarded life term and  fined Rs 25,000. Both have to serve an additional one-year imprisonment each if they fail to pay the fine.

Anoop, 30, of Melevila Veedu, Muthiyakkonam, Nettayam at  Pallikkal,  was murdered by the three accused  following  a bout between his friend Kamarudeen and the second accused Binu   on July 8, 2010. Anoop Khan of Mambutty House, Nettayam, was 22 years old when he committed the murder. He was also accused of murdering two other persons the same year.  He is currently  serving  life imprisonment for the murder of Gopakumar, a bar employee in Kottarakkara. Binu  belongs to  Padinjarayil Veedu, Kuranganpara near Pallickal, and Ajayan to   Poovanathpoyka Veedu, Kalarippacha.
