Hyderabad: Women from trafficking gang target vulnerable

They target crowded places with families and homeless people sleeping on the streets.

Rumours that a gang of child kidnappers was in the Chandrayangutta police station got another group of people attempting to gatecrash the premises.

Hyderabad: The women, M. Yadamma and M. Jaya were from a child trafficking gang who targeted crowded areas and prey on children who stray away from parents or unattended by elders, police said, adding that they have rescued two more kids from them, who were kidnapped an year ago and were used for begging. 

They change the clothes of the kids to avert attention and flee the place, said the DCP (North), B. Sumathi, adding that they were suspects in a different case earlier, but were never caught. “They target crowded places with families and homeless people sleeping on the streets. Once they separate the child from family in the pretext of feeding them and buying them toys, they change the clothes and take them away. We will crack down on their racket and arrest all those involved. The investigations for the same is in progress,” said the official.
