Tirupati: Auto driver booked for misbehaving with a woman passenger

VIJAYAWADA: An auto-rickshaw driver was booked on charges of misbehaving with a woman passenger at Sullurpeta in Tirupati district on Thursday night.

According to Disha police, a woman hailing from Sullurpet was returning home after attending a function in an auto-rickshaw. However, the auto driver took a different route and when the woman asked him about it, he did not respond.

Sensing trouble, the woman jumped out of the running auto-rickshaw and suffered injuries. The woman alerted the Disha police, who rushed to the spot and shifted her to a hospital. Based on the information given by the woman, the police identified the auto driver to be Kesavulu and booked him under Section 366 of IPC.
