Cusat’s brightest draw highest pay

KOCHI: The students of Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) have bagged jobs with highest pay packages during placements for the 2018-19 academic year. Around 570 students have received offers from various companies, with an increase of 200 job offers compared to previous year.
The highest annual pay package offered is around Rs 18 lakh. According to university authorities, the average annual salary saw an increase of around Rs 4.94 lakh compared to previous year.
Over 105 recruiters visited the campus and recruited students, inclu-ding major software and telecommunication giants like TCS, Infosys, IBM, Sysco, Amazon, Verizon and other companies such as L&T, Ciat, Godrej, ONGC, Reliance, and Indraprastha Gas.
According to placement officer Dr James Vargh-ese, the internship offers for the pre-final students also saw a sharp rise this year.
The recruitments through central placement office of the university was started last year. The process starting from the registration of the student to the recruitment is being conducted through the software made independently by the university.
