Tirupati: Three killed as bike hits tempo

According to the locals, the speeding bus overturned while negotiating a turn because of the alleged negligence of the driver.

Tirupati: Three persons were killed in a road accident when the bike on which they were travelling rammed into a speeding tempo traveller coming in the opposite direction near Dasarapalli of V. Kota mandal on the Kuppam-Palama-neru bypass road in Chittoor district late on Wednesday.

According to the local police, the three men hailing from different villages in V. Kota mandal were on their way to V. Kota when a speeding tempo traveller hit the two wheeler, on which they were travelling, head-on near Dasarapalli village. All the three persons sustained major head injuries and were killed on the spot.

The police who reached the spot shifted the bodies of the deceased to the local government hospital for autopsy and registered a case. The deceased were identified as Govindappa (48), Sankarappa (52) and Gangappa (44).

Meanwhile, in another incident in the district on Thursday, at least four students were severely injured after the college bus in which they were travelling over-turned near Therani village in Nagari rural of Chittoor district.

According to the locals, the speeding bus overturned while negotiating a turn because of the alleged negligence of the driver. Police have registered a case and are investigating it.
