Maheshwaram sub-inspector caught red-handed taking bribe

The ACB said he was taking the bribe from one Mohd Khaja Habibuddin, a resident of Tolichowki, so as not to name his cousin in a case.

Hyderabad: Maheshwaram sub-inspector G. Narsimhulu was caught red-handed by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 on Thursday. The ACB said he was taking the bribe from one Mohd Khaja Habibuddin, a resident of Tolichowki, so as not to name his cousin in a case.

On February 17, the Maheshwaram police, based on a complaint raided al Kabir slaughterhouse where they recovered three stolen cattle. The cops took into custody one Raju, and the trail led to Arshad, a cousin brother of complainant Habibuddin.

During investigations, sub-inspector Narsimhulu demanded '60,000 as recovery money to show in the case and Rs 50,000 as a bribe. Habibuddin negotiated the recovery money to Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 as bribe.

He also complained to the ACB which laid a trap and caught the sub-inspector. The bribe was recovered and the cop was arrested and produced before the special court for ACB cases.
