Hyderabad: Driver gets lifer for minor's rape

According to the police, Balaraj, got acquainted with the girl and lured her by saying he will marry her.

Hyderabad: A local court sentenced a school bus driver to life imprisonment on Monday, for kidnapping and raping a minor girl  at Vanasthalipuram in April 2014.

According to the police, Balaraj, 28, got acquainted with the Class IX girl and lured her by saying that he loved her and would marry her. In April 2014, he forcibly took her to his friend’s house in Rajendranagar at night, and repeatedly raped her, police said.

Following a complaint by the girl, Balaraj was arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The Metropolitan Sessions Judge at LB Nagar convicted D. Balaraj under relevant Sections of  the IPC and the PoCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and sentenced him to life imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000.
