Hyderabad: A shocking video from Telangana shows a woman being beaten brutally by a man, who has been identified as Srinivas Reddy, the youth leader of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). The woman is his second wife, Sangeetha Reddy.

In the video, Srinivas, 30, is seen dragging the woman by her hair, abusing and thrashing her, and throwing her on the floor. Several others can be seen standing around the couple, but no one can be seen attempting to help her.

One woman is also seen dragging Sangeetha off by her hair and slamming her against a door.

As per NDTV, Srinivas beat up Sangeetha when she protesting against his third marriage.

The incident reportedly happened on Sunday when Sangeetha found out that her husband got married to a minor Devi Jagadeeshwari in August. Sangeetha reached her husband’s residence with her family to confront him.

Sangeetha's brother and another unidentified person shooting the video were also seen being assaulted by Srinivas Reddy.

Sangeetha has filed a complaint against the politician.

Based on Sangeetha’s complaint, the police have taken Srinivas under custody and charged under sections of IPC.

The youth leader, a resident of Hyderabad's Boduppal area, had married Sangeetha in 2011. The couple has a two-year-old daughter. In the video, Sangeetha 's mother is seen holding the baby.

"Since the last few months, my in-laws have been torturing me for dowry. My husband would also misbehave with me and treat me like a servant. Things got worse after I gave birth to a girl child. He would say this child is not mine. I was thrown out of the house. Now, he has got married without my knowledge. I came here with my parents to demand justice," Sangeetha told media.

The couple got married in 2011, and it was Srinivas' second marriage. Sangeetha had, in June, lodged a complaint against Srinivas and his family for physical and mental harassment.
