Woman dies by suicide after son's death

Tirupati: A woman in Tirupati died by suicide hours after receiving the news of her son's death from illness.

The woman, identified as K. Lakshmi Devi, 60, had lost her husband and two elder sons in previous years. She was living with her youngest son, Naga Bhushanam, 38, and his family. Naga Bhushanam had undergone surgery for a tumor last year, and his health had been deteriorating recently.

He passed away on Thursday afternoon in a hospital in Bengaluru. Upon receiving the news of her son's death, Lakshmi Devi died by suicide in the late hours of Thursday. Police have registered a case.
