Telangana: Brick factory owners held for employing minors, 6 rescued

Hyderabad: The Abdullapurmet police arrested two persons for employing minors at Venkata Sai Eco brick industries on Wednesday and rescued six children. The owner, Aruna, is absconding. The arrested persons were identified as Narpam Devadas, 37, and Nenavath Gopal, 33. The raids were conducted based on a tip-off. On Wednesday, R. Balu, sub-inspector of Abdulla-purmet, along with his staff raided Venkata Sai Eco brick industries and found six minor boys working in the factory. “The management is trafficking minors from Chattisgarh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh,” said the police.

Devadas is looking after the business and his wife, Aruna, is the owner, while Gopal supplies child labourers. They have been running this business for two months. The police booked cases under relevant sections and apprehended the duo.
