Disha cops rescue woman from stalker's attack in Machavaram

Vijayawada: A woman was rescued from being attacked by a man with the timely intervention of Disha police at Machavaram in NTR district on Tuesday night.

According to police, one Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Machavaram, barged into the residence of the woman and entered into a heated argument with her forcing her to marry him. He threatened to pour acid on her face and kill her before killing himself if she turns down his proposal.

Then, the frightened victim called up Disha police, who in turn reached the spot in just 10 minutes. On seeing the police,  Sandeep took to his heels. However, police collected the details of the accused and assured the woman of all help after proving counselling. A case was booked and the police were investigating.
