Imax, Jalavihar owe TS crores of rupees
The state governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh had allotted valuable government lands on lease to these establishments
Hyderabad: Major entertainment and recreational establishments in Hyderabad that were set up as part of public private partnership (PPP) projects have defaulted on payment of lease and revenue sharing with the state government over the past few years. The amount runs into several crores of rupees.
The state governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh had allotted valuable government lands on lease to these establishments. As per PPP agreements entered then, these establishments had to pay annual lease and ADP (additional development premium), also known as revenue share, with the state government every year.
The major defaulters include Prasad’s Imax (Necklace Road), which owes Rs 27.45 crore, while Jalvihar (Necklace Road) Rs 6.51 crore Snow World (Lower Tank Bund) Rs 15.01 crore, Expotel Hotel (Lower Tank Bund) Rs 15.13 crore, Daspalla Hotel (Jubilee Hills) Rs 5.67crore, Prajay India Syndicate (Golf Course, Shamirpet) Rs 5.58 crore and Trident Hotel (Madhapur) Rs 75.05crore.
Tourism minister V. Srinivas Goud on Thursday reviewed the status of these PPP projects with officials and issued orders to take stringent action against establishments and recover arrears.
