Hyderabad man tries to film woman taking bath

Venkatesh kept his mobile phone hidden inside his neighbour's washroom. The woman saw the phone and alerted her family.

Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly videographing a woman while she was taking bath.

The suspect S. Venkatesh, kept his mobile phone hidden inside his neighbour’s washroom. 

However, the woman saw the phone and alerted her family, police said.  

Police said Venkatesh was living in a rented place in Manikeshwar Nagar and preparing for competitive examinations.

“On Thursday he sneaked to one side of his neighbour’s house and kept the mobile phone near the ventilator from outside. He wanted to record the woman taking bath. However, the woman saw the phone and alerted the police,” said an officer. 

After the arrest, Venkatesh confessed to the crime. Venkatesh belongs to Tirumalgiri in Suryapet district and was staying in Hyderabad since a year. 

A case was booked against him for voyeurism and for outraging a woman’s modesty.
