Three more held in Uppal double murder case

Hyderabad: The Uppal police on Wednesday arrested three more individuals, including the mother of the prime accused, for the murder of a priest and his son, a software professional, at their residence last week.

Those arrested on Wednesday were identified as Likki Savithri, 60, mother of prime accused Likki Vinay Yogender Reddy, for concealing and destroying evidence by washing the blood-stained clothes, as also Gaddi Karthik, 22, and Vakiti Sudhakar Reddy, 32, who provided transport for the murderers.

The priest Narsimla Narsimha and his son Srinivas were allegedly murdered by Yogendar Reddy and four other persons on Friday at Hanuman Sainagar, Uppal. Vinay had suspected Narsimha of performing black magic on him, leading to financial and personal issues in his life.

Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat, said that the accused persons had closely tracked the priest in the lead-up to the murder.

Police said CCTV footage, technical evidence such as cellphone location, eyewitness accounts, bags containing turmeric and kumkum at the crime scene, helped secure the arrest of the accused persons.
