UP: Woman thrown off train as she resists snatchers, battles for life

Bareilly: A woman engineer is battling for life after being thrown off from a running train by some miscreants when she resisted their attempt to rob her bag,
police said on Saturday.

Jagrati Sharma was chasing the bag-snatchers before they pushed her out of the compartment of the Lucknow-Kathgodam express on Friday night, when the train had started moving from Bhojipura railway station, they added.

The train was stopped by passengers by pulling the chain and the victim was rushed to Bhojipura Primary Health Centre by the RPF, from where she was taken to SRMS Medical College hospital, Bareilly, in a serious condition. The miscreants, however, escaped.

The victim is a resident of Shastri Nagar locality here and was on her way to Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) where she works in a company, police further added.
