Tirupati: Three held for beating man to death

A case was registered under relevant sections and the accused were sent to remand, the CI said.

Tirupati:  Yerpedu mandal police on Tuesday held three men for allegedly beating a 45-year-old man to death at Papanaidupet in the district. The deceased has been identified as Pulusu Munaswamy of the village and was found to be a close relative of the accused.

According to CI Murali Nayak, the accused were identified as P. Kumar Swamy, his son P. Pavan and his co-brother Nepal.

The prime accused Kumara Swamy and the deceased Munaswamy are said to be brothers and were living in nearby houses.

A tiff began between the two brothers when the deceased failed to build a portion of the accused’ house, which was removed for laying a water pipeline to the house of the deceased. On Monday night, the three accused were involved in an altercation with the deceased on the issue and later, during a tiff, the accused beat Munaswamy to death.

A case was registered under relevant sections and the accused were sent to remand, the CI said.   

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 37-year-old man, identified as Muni Krishna died in an accident at Reppalpadu cross  on Tuesday. The biker slipped while negotiating a turn and hit an electric pole beside the road and sustained a severe head injury.

Before the police arrived on the spot, he passed away. Police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
