Andhra Pradesh student ends life at hostel

Anantapur: A senior post graduate student committed suicide at her hostel room in Sri Krishnadevaraya University here under on Monday under suspicious circumstances. A tense situation prevailed at the university hostel after a large  number of the student’s family members held a protest, accusing the varsity authorities of being behind the suicide.Sources said, Prasanna Lakshmi, 23 of Gorantla was studying senior M.Sc. in Zoology, at Sri Krishnadevaraya University. She stayed at the Godavari hostel located in the university campus, on the Itikalapalli outskirts of Anantapur. 

On Monday morning, Lakshmi Prasanna was found hanging from the ceiling at her room, No.306 in the hostel. Her roommates  alerted the university authorities and also the police, who rushed the spot and found the girl hanging from the ceiling. Police and university authorities informed her parents, who rushed to the spot. They accused the university authorities and the zoology department of harassing Prasanna Lakshmi in many ways.
