15 arrested for illegal mining in Kandukur

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Team apprehended 15 persons who were involved in illegal sand extraction at Kandukur on Thursday night. The accused were handed over to Kandukur police for further action.

Acting on a tip, the LB Nagar SOT raided a place at Nednur, where a group of persons were loading sand from at Kummakunta within Kandukur police station limits. The SOT police said that the accused persons, Kishan, S. Sudhakar Reddy, V. Ravi, V. Krishna, Ch Mallesh, P. Naresh, K. Hari, M. Mallesh, K. Shiva, A. Mallaiah, M. Parvathalu, M. Nagesh, M. Redya, J. Pandu and M. Yadaiah were extracting sand illegally and selling it. They were all taken into custody. Four lorries, three of them loaded with sand were seized.
