Manu Mathew murder case: 6 accused sent to sub-jail

The six were presented before the Changanassery JFMC by the police on Friday last.

Kottayam: The six accused in the murder of Janathipathya Youth Front leader Manu Mathew were sent to Kottayam sub-jail on Tuesday.  Mathew, Thrikodithanam mandalam committee president of the  Youth Front,  was allegedly stabbed to death by the accused  at the Perunna private bus stand in Changanassery on Sunday (October 9).

They are  Kottamury Alummoottil Nithin Joseph, 29, a panchayat member of the Congress  from  Thrikkodithanam,   Sijo Sebastian, 22, of Fathimapuram, Vettukuzhy Veetil, K.S. Arjun,22, of Payippadu Nalukody Kaduthanam, Sooraj Soman, 23, of Thrikkodithanam Chakrathikunnu Cheruveli-kunnu, Chethipuzha Veroor Arackal, Binu Sibyc-hen, 23, and Velloor Karapuzha Thiruvathukkal Shameer Hussain, 29. While the police charged murder case against the five, Shameer Hussain was charged with  destroying the evidence.

The six were presented  before  the Changanassery JFMC by the police on Friday last. Changanassery  CI Binu Varghese told DC that they were sent to the sub-jail after  completing the evidence gathering. The police got  CCTV clippings of the accused coming to the Kottayam district hospital for treatment after attacking the victim, sources said.  The CCTV visuals of a shop near the Perunna stand had shown the accused attacking Manu Mathew.
