Hyderabad: The Rachakonda cyber crime police arrested a woman for cheating a techie working in the US on the pretext of marriage by creating a fake matrimony profile and collecting money from him to shift to the US.

K. Archana, 30, a resident of Begumpet, created a fake matrimonial profile. She contacted one Pavan Kumar, who lives in the US and works as a techie there and showed interest in marrying him.

Archana claimed to be an employee of CISCO and told Pavan that she wanted to move to West Palm Beach in Florida, as there was a vacancy at the company. She asked him to send money to shift her luggage and took $2,900 (Rs 4 lakh) and vanished.

Mr Kumar realised he had been cheated and informed his cousin here and lodged a complaint with the police.
