Minor raped by mom's paramour in Meerpet
Police arrested the man, identified as Ankam Ramesh, 42, a welder, on Monday.
Hyderabad: A 12-year-old Class-VII student was raped by her mother’s paramour, who came home in an inebriated condition on Saturday in Meerpet.
Police arrested the man, identified as Ankam Ramesh, 42, a welder, on Monday.
“Ramesh raped the girl on Saturday afternoon when he came home drunk. The minor told her mother, a labourer, that Ramesh had raped her twice on earlier occasions when she was at work,” said C. Gandhinarayana, ACP of Vanasthalipuram.
Padma and Ramesh have been staying together for 10 years after the death of Ramesh’s wife, which was also when Padma’s husband left her.
“On Saturday, Padma’s daughter complained of stomach ache. After inquiring, the minor told her that Ramesh forced her to undress and sexually abused her,” added the official.
Ramesh has two daughters, aged 17 and 12, who stay with their grandparents. Padma has two sons who stay with their father.
The minor was sent to Niloufer hospital for examination and a case has been booked against Ramesh under relevant Sections of IPC and PoCSO Act at Meerpet police station.
