Hyderabad: Man steals from employer, nabbed

According to Rachakonda police, K. Peddamala Kondaiah, a merchant from Miryalguda, visits the city on work frequently.

Hyderabad: A car driver hailing from Miryalguda was arrested for stealing Rs 11 lakh from his employer at Hayathnagar on Friday. According to Rachakonda police, K. Peddamala Kondaiah, a merchant from Miryalguda, visits the city on work frequently. 

He hired Shaik Sayyed, 27, a local, as a driver six months ago. Police said that Sayyed overheard Mr Kondaiah talking about purchasing land in the city and got to know that he would be carrying huge amounts of money with him. On January 7, Mr Kondaiah travelled from Miryalguda to an eye hospital in Hayatnagar for a check-up. When Mr Kondaiah went to the hospital, Sayyed allegedly took the cash bag and escaped. Based on a complaint from Mr Kondaiah, Sayyed was apprehended and Rs 10.53 lakh cash was seized.
