Bengaluru: Newlywed farmer hangs self from tree

The police said he got married seven months ago, but he was depressed and had started drinking heavily.

Bengaluru: A depressed newlywed man hanged himself from a tamarind tree near his house in Bagalur police limits on Tuesday night. 

The deceased, Anil Kumar (28), was a resident of Bagalur and a farmer. The police said he got married seven months ago, but he was depressed and had started drinking heavily. 

On Tuesday morning, his family members told him to quit drinking and he walked out of the house in a huff. He went to his farmland near Gopalapura Main Road and hanged himself. 

Around 4.30 pm, passerby noticed him hanging from the tree and informed his family members who immediately alerted the police.
