Hyderabad: Cops nab 5 for attacking man

Hyderabad: Five persons, who attempted to murder a rival over a land dispute, were arrested by the Balapur police on Tuesday.

According to the Balapur police, there was a dispute between Mirza Jahangir Baid and Saud Bin Sayeed Boam about the ownership of a piece of land located in the Survey numbers 3 to 8, at Kurmalguda village for a long time.

On Sunday, Baid had asked his associate, one Shaik Sayeed Bin Hassan Al Amoodi, to build a compound wall around the disputed land. While Hassan was constructing the wall, Boam and his four associates reached the spot and attacked and injured him.

The police said that on receiving the information about the incident, a team rushed to the spot and apprehended Boam, 47, Mir Akbar Ali Khan, 37, Taleb Bin Aslam, 49, Ali Bin Omer Dayani, 35 and Syed Bawazeer, 38. They were booked in a case and were produced before a court for the judicial remand.

The police said that later a case was registered against Hassan on the basis of a complaint of an ex-army man Sudhakar Rao, that the land belonged to him and the wall was constructed illegally. The petition was accepted and a probe is on to find the facts, said the police.
