Hyderabad: One held for possessing cannabis

They grind the tender ganja leaves and dried it into round golis. They mix it with milk and consume them.

Hyderabad: The State Excise and Task Force (SETF) police arrested a person on charges of illegal possession of dry ganja powder and seized 12 kg of the same on Sunday. 

According to the SETF  police Kamal Kishan, 45, the accused, was selling dry ganja in his shop-cum-residence in Kolsewadi, Begum Bazar, Dhoolpet. 

Speaking to this newspaper, SETF, Inspector of police, Prasad said, “By using the tender cannabis leaves they make Bhangu. They grind the tender ganja leaves and dried it into round golis. They mix it with milk and consume them.” For a beverage it is mixed with milk and filtered, then often flavored with kusha grass sugar, fruit, and various spices. 

The dry ganja powder was mainly used for making Bangu. Possession of ganja in  any form is punishable offence under Section 34 (a) of Telangana Excise Act, which attracts punishment ranging from three to five-years of imprisonment.
