Bihar: 2 girls stripped as father fails to pay uniform fees
Three persons including school owner Mukesh Kumar and the principal were arrested after the matter was reported to the police.
Patna: The state government has sought a report from the district administration after two girls belonging to a private school in Begusarai were stripped and sent home in a semi-naked condition.
Sources said, father Chunchun Sah, had gone to pick their daughters from school on Friday when he was asked, “to either pay school fees or take their daughters home without school shirt”.
Sah while talking to reporters in Begusarai said, “They stripped my daughters in front of everyone despite my repeated request. I just wanted some more time to arrange the amount”.
The video footage which surfaced on Sunday showed the girls walking home in a semi-naked condition.
“The teachers were not ready to give me even one more day to arrange the money and pay school fees for my kids”, Chunchun Sah, father of both the girls told reporters in Begusarai.
Sources told this newspaper that the father had missed several deadlines to pay the school fees earlier and was seeking more time to arrange money but his request was rejected by school authorities on Friday.
Three persons including school owner Mukesh Kumar and the principal were arrested after the matter was reported to the police. The police claimed that charge sheet in the case will be filed within a day.
“We have arrested three persons after FIR was lodged by the victim’s father. Further investigation is on and we will soon file a charge sheet”, Sub Divisional police officer Rajesh Kumar said.
The incident was also condemned by state education minister Ashok Chaudhary who said that “stern action against the school will be taken”.
