Bengaluru: A 30-year-old woman was gangraped by three to four men at a forested area near her house in Rajankunte where she had gone to collect firewood on Wednesday. The family got worried when she did not return home that night. On Thursday morning, the family went in search of her and found her lying injured in the thicket. They took her along to the Rajankunte police station to file a complaint, but the police refused to register an FIR.

The police registered the complaint only after the family got in touch with some local activists. A senior police officer said, "We will conduct an internal inquiry and in anyone is found guilty, they will be punished.”
