Hyderabad: Cop’s wife kills self over son’s ill-health

Hyderabad: Reportedly depressed over her elder son’s ill-health, the wife of a sub-inspector working with Central Industrial Security Force at the Shamshabad airport allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her home in Shamshabad.

According to the RGIA police, Bijender Singh, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was posted at RGIA. He stayed with his family comprising his wife Swapna, 38, and three children at a rented house in Rudra Colony, Shamshabad.

The elder son of the couple was specially-abled. They used to take care of his needs but Swapna used to feel that her husband was overburdened, police said. On Sunday, after Mr Singh left for work she committed suicide by hanging herself from a hook in the ceiling.

Based on a complaint from Mr Singh, a case of suspicious death has been registered for the probe and the body was handed over to him after the autopsy, said the RGIA police.
