Hyderabad: 14 drunk drive cases in Jubilee Hills

All those sentenced for imprisonment were sent to Chanchalguda Jail.

Around 250 drunk drivers who were caught on New Year Eve in Rachakonda and Cyberabad were given jail terms ranging from three to eight days.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad traffic police booked 14 cases and seized 14 vehicles, eight cars and six bikes, in drunk drive tests in Jubilee Hills on Friday night.

“During last week, 591 chargesheets were filed against the drunk drivers and they were produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate in Erramanzil. The court awarded imprisonment to 73 respondents and suspended licences of 10 persons for a certain period, apart from collecting fine up to Rs 12.6 lakh,” said Hyderabad Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police Dr V. Ravinder. All those sentenced for imprisonment were sent to Chanchalguda Jail.
