Hyderabad: Trio arrested for robbing TV employee

The police recovered property worth Rs 6.5 lakh from the accused.

Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police on Thursday arrested three persons for robbing a regional news channel staffer who was on his way to work.

Mr K. Kuntla Mahesh complained to the Banjara Hills police that on the night of January 10 three persons stopped him near the ACB office and demanded money. When he refused, the trio beat him, took his mobile phone and Rs 500 and fled on a two-wheeler.

The police identified the bike (AP09 CV 6930) and caught Mohd Ismail, 18, of Hakeempet, Mohd Faisal, 21, of Banjara Hills and Mohd Ahmed, 20, and recovered the phone and cash.

In a separate case, KPHB police arrested seven members of a Pardhi gang for their involvement in eight burglaries. The police recovered property worth Rs 6.5 lakh from the accused.

On January 11, Venkateshwar Rao, a techie from Nizampet, parked his car on the main road and went to an ATM kiosk to withdraw cash. The gang members broke window pane of the car and stole two laptops. He complained to the KPHB police who traced the gang members and arrested them.
