Hyderabad: Excise sleuths seize 2.3 kg contraband

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Excise and Enforcement Team of Hyderabad apprehended three men following raids at ganja sale points and seized 2.3 kg of the contraband from them.

The arrested were identified as Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Dilip Singh and Jaya Bai, the police said, adding that Ramu and Bharath Singh, were reportedly absconding. 

The raids were conducted based on a tip-off at sales point at Chandini Hotel in Bapunagar, Langer Houz, and seized 1.12 kg dry ganja and Rs 12,500 cash from Pankaj Kumar Sharma first. “On being questioned, he revealed that he had purchased the stash from Ramu of Himayatsagar and Bharath Singh of Langer Houz. The officials handed him over to the Golconda Prohibition and Excise Station for action” the official said.
