Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man murdered his wife at their residence in Venkatagiri area of Jubilee Hills on Sunday morning by slitting her throat with a sharp object. The motive behind the murder is yet to be known, police said, adding that the man fled the spot after the murder, leaving their four-month-old baby back at home.

Jubilee Hills police inspector P. Chandra Shekar said Siraj Ahmed, 27, a private employee, murdered his wife Haseena Begum, 19, by slitting her throat with a sharp object. Police suspect a domestic dispute behind the murder.  “The incident took place around 4 am on Sunday. the motive behind the murder is yet to be established,” said the official. 

The body has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination and a case has been booked under section 302 (murder) of IPC.
