Rajahmundry: Three burglars held, valuables recovered

Based on a complaint by the victims, the police booked a case at the Kadiam police station and began investigation.

Rajahmundry: Urban police managed to crack the burglary case in four days. They arrested the three burglars and seized the stolen cash and valuables.

Urban additional SP Y.V. Ramana Kumar on Saturday said that the three men had entered into a road side eatery at Kadiapu Lanka village of Kadiam mandal in East Godavari on February 11. The three threatened the aged couple who were running the eatery with a knife and lifted '49,000 cash and gold ornaments.

Based on a complaint by the victims, the police booked a case at the Kadiam police station and began investigation.

According to the police, on February 15, they had tried to stop three men riding triples on a bike at Kakinada Canal Road. They three were coming  from Kesvaram towards Kadiam.

They tried to escape, but the police chased them and caught them. On questioning them they found the three to be involved in burglary. The trio have been identified as Kale Manikyala Rao, Palepu Suresh and Gangabathula Durgababu hailing from Yanam. The police managed to recover cash of Rs 29,000 and stolen gold ornaments.
