Hyderabad: Duo had committed 16 thefts in 2018 alone

Hyderabad: The two upcountry burglary suspects arrested on Saturday committed 21 offences under the Rachakonda police limits. Last year alone, the duo struck 16 times in Rachakonda.

The accused mainly committed offences on the outskirts of city areas like Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram, Meerpet and others. In January, they committed three house burglaries on the same day under Hayathnagar and Vanasthalipuram police stations. Following this, Rachakonda commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat appointed three teams headed by inspector rank officials, K.R Nagaraju, DCP Crimes, Rachakonda Police said.

“The teams got a breakthrough clue from a semi-visible CCTV footage in which they identified some movements near Hayathnagar. With the help of the IT cell, the footage was enhanced revealing the number of the two-wheeler that the duo used,” Mr Nagaraju said.
