Two gym instructors arrested for sexual assault, extortion

HYDERABAD: Two gym instructors, Ravi Yadav Kaaitha and his elder brother Raju Yadav Kaaitha, were taken into custody by the police on charges of sexual assault, extortion, and blackmailing unsuspecting female gym members by taking their pictures and videos at a gym in Bowenpally.

The accused secretly took photographs and videos of the women gym members
while they worked out. According to the police, the duo admitted to recording naked pictures and videos of female gym patrons and using those recordings to blackmail them. K Ravi Kumar, an inspector with the Bowenpally police, claimed the accused threatened to circulate the photos and videos on social media if the victims failed to give them money. According to the victim's mother, who complained on January 14 that the brothers had captured her 17-year-old daughter's photographs and threatened to circulate them online. According to the
complaint, the accused took 20 tolas of gold jewellery, 60 tola of silver ornaments, and Rs 45,0000 in cash from the victim. The accused were booked
under Sections 354 (C), 376(2), 384, 406, 420 as well as the POCSO Act and
remanded them to judicial custody, said Ravi Kumar. Meanwhile, a senior police officer of the north zone directed the gym owners to install proper surveillance in their facilities to curb illegal activities and create a sense of security among  young women. Action will be taken against those found violating the directive, he said.
