Coimbatore: Man held for attack on HIV' minor girl

The poor girl was severely injured and was bleeding as a result of the attack.

Coimbatore: The city police have arrested a 30-year-old man for attacking a 15-year-old minor girl, suspected to be affected by HIV virus, near Thondamuthoor in suburbs of Coimbatore.

According to police, Aaran alias Aruchamy, is a resident of Thondamuthoor-Vellerukanpalayam and his sister, a HIV-affected person died a decade ago. The deceased woman's daughter, a suspected HIV patient, had visited Aruchamy's house to seek financial help while he was out of the house on Friday evening. The girl was tired after waiting for a long time fell asleep at Aruchamy's place. Around 10.30 pm, Aruchamy, returning to his house had got angry after seeing the girl sleeping at his home. Aruchamy had verbally abused the girl, allegedly dragged her and thrown her out of his house, police said, adding, he attacked the girl repeatedly with a piece of wood, warning her not enter his house once again. The poor girl was severely injured and was bleeding as a result of the attack. On hearing the girl's cries, neighbors came running and rescued her. The girl was rushed to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and is being treated there. 

Learning about the brutal attack on an HIV-affected minor girl through the local residents Thondamuthoor police sub -inspector Navaneetha Krishnan  lodged a complaint .
