Warangal: The Kazipet police have solved the ‘missing’ case of a Class 10 girl student that had created a sensation in erstwhile Warangal district since July first week.

The police said they arrested Bupally Madhu who abducted the school girl on his bike on July 6 from Bapuji Nagar in Kazipet of Hanamkonda.

A Kidnap case had been registered at the Kazipet police station by the girl’s parents on July 7, saying she did not return home from the school on July 6, and putting the blame on their son-in-law, Madhu.

They showed the video that was shot by Madhu in which he was seen threatening the girl’s parents by keeping the knife on the neck of the girl.

Kazipet CI Mahendar formed special teams and started the investigation. From the CCTV footage, the police found that Madhu picked the girl from her school on his bike and headed towards Hyderabad. They were also seen in the footage of CCTV cameras at the toll gate on the national highway between Warangal and Hyderabad.

A police team nabbed Madhu on Sunday night, registered a case against him and put him behind the bars.

CI Mahendar said Madhu was a resident of Jangaon and married to Manasa, a resident of Madikonta in 2020. For the past two years, disputes have been ongoing between the two families over the photos that were taken during the marriage.

In a revengeful action against Manasa’s family members, Madhu abducted her sister from her school. Madhu took her to several places.

Police said he raped the girl in a room at Thandur. When police reached the place of Madhu at Alair, he left the girl in the room and tried to escape. The police managed to arrest him.
