Maoists torch guest house, vehicle in Telangana

Warangal: A guest house of the Telangana forest department and a government jeep were on Saturday set ablaze allegedly by Maoists at Thadvai mandal head-quarters in the district, police said.

The incident took place in the wee hours, around 80 kms from Warangal on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, Eturunagaram Police Circle Inspector Ravi Chandra said.

A note, purportedly penned by one Damoder, secretary of Khammam, Karimnagar and Warangal district of the outlawed CPI (Maoists), was found on the spot, he added.

As per the note, several allegations were made against the Central and the state government, the inspector said.

Warangal Rural Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishore Jha will be visiting the spot to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, combing operations have started in the area, police said.
