Andhra Pradesh: Schoolkid drowns in Vynatheya

Police are carrying out search operation in the river to trace him out when last reports came in.

Two young girls were drowned in the Bay of Bengal when they went out for swimming at Thupilipalem in Vakadu mandal of Nellore district on Thursday.

Rajahmundry: A schoolkid feared drowned in the River Godavari tributary Vynatheya as he entered the river for a swim at Appanapalli village of Mamidikuduru mandal in East Godavari on Thursday. According to Nagaram police, Sikhile Bheema Raju, 14, hailing from Narendrapuram village of P. Gannavaram mandal, was studying class IX at Zilla Parishad High School at Mamidikuduru. He along with his two friends arrived to the river for a swim.

He entered the water while the other two were standing on the shore. As the depth was more at the place where he entered the river, he was washed away. His friends raised alarm and alerted the local villagers but by that time they came to his rescue, he was not to be found. Police are carrying out search operation in the river to trace him out when last reports came in.
