Hyderabad: Man held for killing wife’s lover

Hyderabad: A fruit vendor who killed his wife’s lover after catching them in a compromising position at his house was arrested by Chaitanyapuri police on Thursday.

Praneeth Reddy, 24, was murdered on November 11, when he went to the house of his lover U. Jyothi, located at Kothapet in the Chaitanyapuri area of the city.

Jyothi and her husband U. Ravi, 32, a fruit vendor, were living in a rented house. Jyothi and Praneeth were classmates during school and used to meet at her house in her husband's absence.

On the day of the incident, after Ravi left for work, Praneeth went to meet Jyothi. Ravi who was already suspecting the infidelity of his wife returned home and found his wife and her paramour in a compromising position.

An argument took place between Ravi and Praneeth following which the former had picked up measuring weights and hit the latter on the head and killed him.

He also tried to kill his wife, but she escaped with minor injuries.

LB Nagar ACP K. Pruthvidhar Rao, said that Ravi, who was absconding since the offence, was caught near the Malakpet Metro Rail station on Wednesday night and placed under arrest on Thursday.
