Kochi: Trio stole three motorbikes, a mobile phone and Rs 6,000

One of the accused, an inmate since 2015, was arrested in a vehicle theft case and the other was held in a mobile phone theft case.

Kochi: A day after the protests at Kakkanad children's home by a few girl inmates, the city police on Friday arrested two boys who, along with another, had escaped from the home on Sunday. The three had gone on a robbery spree in three days  stealing three motor bikes, a  mobile phone and Rs 6,000. The cops also registered four cases against the accused.

The boys aged 16 and 17 were from Adimali and Kumarakam  respectively. Thrikkaraka police had registered a case after their escape and were investigating.

The trio stole  a motor bike from Udaya Colony and then robbed Rs 6,000 and a mobile phone from  a security guard in a flat.  They also stole two  bikes from Marine Drive and South railway station.

The two were arrested from the High Court- Goshree road during night patrolling. The third one, who was also with them,  managed to escape.
