Bengaluru: Man pours acid on wife after quarrel

Bengaluru: In a gruesome twist to a domestic quarrel, an auto driver poured acid on his wife’s face on Friday. The incident occurred in Sanyasi Palya in KG Nagar and the culprit is absconding.
The victim has been identified as Manjula (38), who is undergoing treatment at the Victoria Hospital and her condition is said to be critical.
On Friday afternoon, Manjula’s husband Channegowda (42) picked up a fight with over a family issue. He then threw acid on her and fled.
After hearing Manjula’s cries, the neighbours rushed to her house, took her to a hospital and informed the police.
Police said the couple has two children and they were at school during the time of incident. They said the reason behind the attack is not known as the victim is not in a condition to speak. About 60% of her face was burnt, they added. K.G. Nagar police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab Channegowda.
