The 'pay and stay' initiative is planned as part of a unique prison museum coming up in the premises of Viyyur Central prison in Thrissur district.

Vijaywada: A local court on Thursday awarded life imprisonment for the murderers of eight-year-old Naga Vaishnavi. The convicts — M Srini-vasa Rao (47), Y. Jagadish (35) and P Venkatarao Goud (54) — had murdered the girl on January 30, 2010, due to family rivalry. Justice Babitha described this incident as a very cruel and nasty act.

The judgment that came eight years after the relatives of the girl stepmother — her father’s first wife — killed her.  The convicts murdered Naga Vaishnavi kidnapped and killed her in the car by closing her nose with the hands forcibly. Later they burnt her in a furnace at Auto Nagar, Guntur, to erase all evidence. But the diamond in her earrings revealed her murder. There was no response from the victim’s family on the judgement.
