Telangana: Case against police DSP for cheating

Hyderabad: Alwal police on Tuesday registered a case of cheating against DSP of Mahbubnagar Central Crime Station, Murali Manohar. “Manohar took gold ornaments worth Rs 11.75 lakh from Ramulu, a resident of Old Alwal and an acquaintance of his, in February 2016, assuring him that he would return it in a couple of days, but failed to do so,” said police inspector of Alwal, T. Anand Reddy.

“When he failed to return the gold even after 16 months, Ramulu lodged a complaint,” added the police inspector. Based on his complaint, Alwal police has booked a case under Section 406 (Criminal breach of trust) and 420 (Cheating) of the IPC and started an investigation.
