Hyderabad: House burglar nabbed, 540 gm gold recovered

According to Cyberabad police, Kashinath Gaikwad, a resident of Belurgi village in Gulbarga district of Karnataka, is a political aspirant.

Hyderabad: A farmers leader from  Karnataka was arrested by Central Crime Station (CCS) sleuths of Cyberabad for being involved in 16 housebreaking offences and recovered 540 gm gold from him. Another offender is yet to be nabbed.

According to Cyberabad police, Kashinath Gaikwad, a resident of Belurgi village in Gulbarga district of Karnataka, is a political aspirant. He is currently serving as the president of Farmer’s Association for Afzalpur Taluk in Karnataka.

Kashinath, a regular visitor to Hyderabad, used to travel in autos in the residential areas to conduct recce and committed burglaries in the locked houses during the day. He used to take the stolen booty to Afzalpur and sold to Kalasingh, a small-time goldsmith.

After a series of burglaries in Cyberabad and Rachakonda police limits, Cyberabad police chief V.C. Sajjanar had setup a special team headed by DCP (crimes) Janaki Shar-mila. Following his arrest, the stolen gold was recovered while efforts are on to find Kalasingh who purchased the stolen property from Kashinath.
