Hyderabad: Two persons travelling in a car died and two others were injured, including one critically, in an accident near the toll gate towards Medchal on the Outer Ring Road, the police said.

Three trucks, carrying bananas and coconuts from Rajahmundry, were parked on the roadside after one of them suffered a tyre puncture. One of the drivers, Prasad, 31, was crossing the road to find a mechanic when he was hit by a car. “He fell into the bushes. The car driver swerved and the vehicle collided with the parked trucks and overturned, said Shamirpet inspector Niranjan Reddy.

Six persons from Chintal were returning from Tirupati in the car when the accident took place.

The deceased were identified as Bairi Maruti, 30, driving the car, and Balraj Goud, 41, seated behind the driver. Prasad suffered severe injuries and is in a critical condition. Others sustained minor injuries.
