Hyderabad: Two runaway minors from Rajahmundry were caught by the police in the city on Wednesday.

LB Nagar inspector P. Kasi Reddy said the children were Class VIII students of St. Ann’s School in Bommuru, Rajahmundry.

Three days back one of the students took Rs 1.6 lakh from his house and ran away on his brother-in-law’s scooter. He was accompanied by his classmate.

They first went to Visakhapatnam where they purchased two mobile phones costing Rs 14,999 and then headed for Hyderabad.

When the students reached LB Nagar junction, traffic police stopped them for riding on a vehicle without a registration number. The kids were handed over to the LB Nagar police who inquired about their parents and learnt of the story.
