 Hyderabad: The Shamshabad Special Operation Team (SOT) and police on Saturday raided a hotel in Thondupally mandal and arrested two persons for allegedly printing fake currency and seized property worth about Rs 11 lakh from them. Police said the accused, Thomandra Ranjith Singh and Malasla Mohan Rao, were about the sell the fake notes.

The duo had procured a colour printer, scanner, currency papers, colours and water mark, Shamshabad DCP K. Narayana Reddy said. The kingpin Ranjith Singh is at large, he said adding that the gang was from Andhra Pradesh and had agents in different states. They operated via social media sites. The accused were previously arrested by Ramchandrapuram and Visakhapatnam police in a fake currency case.
